About
For years, the management buildings at Semarang Water Dam relied on electricity supplied by PLN, the national electricity provider. While this setup was functional, it came with several challenges. The cost of electricity from PLN was steadily rising, and the dam's management team was keenly aware of the need to cut expenses and improve energy efficiency. Additionally, the reliance on external electricity sources made the dam vulnerable to power outages and fluctuations in supply.
Business Needs
-
Cost Savings: By generating their own electricity, the dam's management could significantly reduce their energy bills. The initial investment in solar panels and storage batteries would be offset by the long-term savings on electricity costs.
-
Energy Independence: With their own renewable energy source, the management buildings would be less affected by power outages and supply issues from PLN. The ESS would ensure a steady supply of electricity, even during the night or on cloudy days.
-
Environmental Impact: Transitioning to solar energy would drastically reduce the dam's carbon footprint. This move aligned with global efforts to combat climate change and demonstrated the dam's leadership in adopting green technologies.
Solution
-
Field study on existing 500kW/754kWh BESS at Semarang water dam site and customised EMU to integrate with local ESS controller through Modbus TCP. Objective is to provide all-in-one remote fleet monitoring and management solutions for multiple water dam sites despite different BESS suppliers.
-
In-house designed and developed EMS Server for managing individual and multiple water dam sites.
